SPILAMBERTO

Spilamberto is situated on the left bank of the Panaro river in the foothills of the Modena Apennines. The municipality comprises approximately 10,000 inhabitants. There are a number of archaeological remains which testify to the fact that the area has been inhabited since prehistoric times.
Spilamberto is a town of old artisan traditions which are continued today in modern establishments. Small and medium industries are well developed as is the local agriculture. Three typical food products of Spilamberto are Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Modena, nocino (a liqueur made from walnuts) and the renowned local macaroons. The Consorteria dell’Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Modena is based here as well as the Ordine del Nocino Modenese which, along with the Museo dell’Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale (a must visit if you wish to discover the secrets behind the Balsamic), make Spilamberto an essential stopping point along the Strada dei Vini e dei Sapori “Città Castelli Ciliegi”.
